This Spanish photonovel, whose title is based on a popular Mexican song, is really a love story with a message about strokes. It tells of an elderly Latino woman whose boyfriend is recovering from a stroke. The story emphasizes the effect on his speech and language. The woman realizes that she, too, is at risk for stroke. With help from her family, she and her lover make healthy changes in their diet and exercise habits. The story has a happy ending and leaves the message that there is life after a stroke. There is a glossary, along with lists of risk factors for stroke, and danger signs to look for. This would be useful in a Spanish literacy or ESOL class. There are several other Spanish publications available through NIDCD.
